Young Social Change Maker Award – 2024

The dynamic and ever-changing nature of the world has led to the digital space becoming an indispensable aspect of the lives of young people. It serves as a tool to express their opinions and share their perspectives on both local and global issues. Moreover, it presents an opportunity to effectively engage young individuals in utilizing the digital space to find productive solutions for social problems thus creating a positive social impact. TYCL being an youth-led organization, actively engages young minds towards creating a socialchange through various programs; One of which is International Youth Day. The United Nations celebrates International Youth Day(IYD) on 12th August every year. TYCL also has a rich tradition of celebrating IYD every year by recognising the young people working towards creating a positive social impact. This year, TYCL has planned to observe the IYD on the theme “From Click to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Developments” by recognising the young people working to create a social impact through digital platform with“Young Social Change Maker Award” and a cash prize of “Twenty Five Thousand” for fourinitiatives categorized under the Sustainable Developmental Goals: Gender Equality and Reduced inequalities (SDG 5 & 10), Good health and well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Climate Action (SDG 13).

Award Categories

  1. Health and Well-being: – Individuals who use digital platforms to promote physical and mental health and to improve the access to healthcare services.
  2. Quality Education:- Individuals who use digital technologies to reduce digital divide and enhance access to quality education.
  3. Reduced Inequalities: –Individuals who use the digital platforms to promote gender equality and reduce social, economic, and cultural inequalities and focus on creating inclusive environments where everyone has the access to opportunities and resources.
  4. Climate Change Action : – individuals who use digital means to address climate change and promote environmental sustainability by focusing on creating awareness, advocate for policy changes and encourage sustainable practices.

How can apply?

  • Young people of age 18 to 35 years .
  • Resident of UT of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu .
  • Applicants must utilize digital platforms, tools, or technologies in their initiatives to drive social impact.
  • Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience working on their initiative in the specified category and must have a commitment to their initiative, indicating plans and actions for future sustainability
